Did you know that there's a service where companies can actually work with kind-hearted hackers in order to suss out issues with their hardware and software" That's what the HackerOne program is, and Nintendo has been a part of it for awhile now.

Over on the HackerOne website, users were able to pick apart the 3DS and Switch to find vulnerabilities, which they could then report to Nintendo. You can see Nintendo's mission statement for hackers below.
Nintendo's goal is to provide a secure environment for our customers so that they can enjoy our games and services. In order to achieve this goal, Nintendo is interested in receiving vulnerability information that researchers may discover regarding Nintendo's platforms.
Hackers that found important issues were actually paid for their findings, giving people quite an inventive to track problems down. Up to this point in time, Nintendo has been interested in both 3DS and Switch bugs, but moving forward, it appears Nintendo is dropping 3DS bounties.

Currently, in the context of the HackerOne program, Nintendo is only interested in vulnerability information regarding the Nintendo Switch™ family of systems and is not seeking vulnerability information regarding other Nintendo platforms, network service, or server-related information.
