About 6 years ago we came up with an unconventional funding idea. Ich habe vor sechs Jahren deren Kickstarter unterstützt, aber die ersten Versionen dann nie ausprobiert ? zumindest nicht in ihrem vollen Umfang. Ich wollte mit 15 US-Dollar schlicht dazu beitragen, dass eine neuen ?Publishing Platform? entsteht. Seit ein paar Monaten teste ich (für mich privat) eine selbstgehostete Installation. Wenn ich heute noch einmal neu mit dem iPhoneBlog starten würde, dann würde ich direkt auf einem gemanagten Ghost Pro-Account beginnen. Für ein (komplett) privates Blog fehlt Ghost jedoch ein günstigerer Startpreis: 29 US-Dollar pro Monat sind als privates Tagebuch einfach zu teuer.
Natürlich will man in keinen Preiskampf mit Squarespace und Co. treten, aber die Lücke im Angebot empfinde ich trotzdem als sehr offensichtlich. Insbesondere für alle diejenigen, die ihre Publikation als Aushängeschild, eine Referenz, eine Nebentätigkeit oder ein Hobby ansehen.
